Admiral car insurance has announced a pre-tax profit of 21 percent for the first half of 2010 with a continued rise in the number of UK motorists signing up for car insurance.
The company revealed that it promises to be a "year of great opportunity" for the company. The final figure collated on June 30 totalled £126.9 million – up from £105.3 million a year earlier. In fact the final total was more than the £124.3 million forecast from 14 analysts.
Admiral chief executive Henry Engelhardt, said: "This year is shaping up to be a year of great opportunity and I’m extremely proud of how everyone at Admiral has stepped up to the challenge.
"The UK car insurance business continues to be the driving force behind our success and in the first half of 2010 we shifted up yet another gear."
Admiral car insurance also operates the Confused.com price comparison website in the UK, as well as leading web-based insurance services across Spain (Balumba.es), Italy (ConTe.it), and in Germany (AdmiralDirekt.de).
