BMW Awarded Greenest Manufacturer Gong
11/01/2010
Motorists looking for a car manufacturer that considers the planet as well as its customers should look towards German giants BMW. Green-Car-Guide.com awarded BMW with the Greenest Manufacturer Award.
The BMW Group has been recognised for its attempt to lower carbon emissions for the environment and its customers whilst ensuring the high standard of vehicles that motorists have come to expect from BMW.
Stephen Chater, corporate operations manager for BMW UK, said: "I'm delighted to receive this award which represents further acknowledgement of BMW Group's class-leading advances in this sector, which is helping to reduce costs for businesses and company car users."
BMW continues to develop a whole host of green, eco-friendly initiatives for its vehicles in the coming year. The new BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Saloon is due for release in 2010 and is set to provide reduced emissions of 106g of carbon dioxide per kilometre.
BMW’s latest EfficientDynamics developments boast Auto Start-Stop, Reduced Resistance, Active Aerodynamics and Brake Energy Regeneration – all designed to provide a safe, greener drive for its motorists. ActiveHybrid – another approaching enhancement – will combine the environmental strengths of electric motors and the reliability of petrol engines together.
Whilst maintaining its masterful knack of crafting contemporary, awe-inspiring vehicles, BMW works hard to provide an attractive environmentally-friendly solution. Green motorists will be keen to compare the price of BMW car insurance after its latest gong.
