Money Supermarket Car Insurance - Pricey Premiums for Student Drivers at University
25/08/2010
With students preparing themselves for a new chapter in their lives at university a representative from Money Supermarket car insurance has urged undergraduates to think twice about taking their cars to university with them.
Head of car insurance, Steve Sweeney, revealed that there is a significant price change for insurance policies for leaving a vehicle in a suburban area and parking it at city centre student accommodation.
In fact figures release by Money Supermarket car insurance admit that young drivers could be asked to fork out as much as £3,000 more to insure their car at university over the duration of a three or four-year course.
It is vitally important that young drivers shop around for their young car insurance policies, as certain providers specialise in providing insurance for students and young, newly qualified drivers.
Mr Sweeney added: "Those who do decide to take their cars with them should notify their insurer so they can amend their policy details to reflect their change in living situation."
